Youth Consultation Service (YCS) is a private, non-profit behavioral health and social services agency that has been caring for at risk children and families since 1918 in therapeutic residences, special education schools, in-home and in-community programs throughout NJ. The agency has also expanded its programming to include in-home and residential services for behaviorally challenged, children and young adults on the autism spectrum and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Has an immediate opening for the following:
Part-Time (20-Hour Position) - Child/Adolescent Psychiatric APN
Duties Include:
Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management and treatment team participation for youth and adolescents.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is familiar with mental health and assessment skills, and utilizes teaching knowledge to promote positive attitudes and habits.
They perform clinical and administrative duties in a medical support role.
This is a 20-hour position to cover various sites in the Southern Region. Sites to be determined by the applicants qualifications and experience.
Additional job responsibilities:
Prescribing and monitoring medications.
Completing laboratory work on newly admitted clients, and insuring all clients receive proper medical and nursing care.
Provides clinical services to the clients in YCS programs.
Assesses the initial psychiatric needs of clients upon arrival in YCS facilities or within program time frame guidelines.
Quality client care that meets the established standard of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing practice.
Evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric problems along with collaborating physician(s).
Incorporates multi-disciplinary approach to client care.
Prescribes and orders medications and lab tests according to clinical indications and mutually agreed upon protocols between the APN and psychiatrist.
Attends multi-disciplinary team meetings as needed to identify problems and set goals/outcomes and necessary interventions.
Contacts the collaborating physician for consultation as clinically indicated and for record reviews.RequirementsNew Jersey APN License with prescriptive privileges and psychiatric certification required.
Education Requirements:
Master's degree from an accredited Practical School of Nursing;
Current NJ State licensure to practice; as a licensed or certified Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse; practitioner (APN) to practice as a Psychiatric APN; prescriptive Privileges in the State of NJ; CDS and DEA Number in State of NJ preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
